After being in Costa Rica for about 3 weeks, Cesar lead two mission trips here in the Rio Grande Valley. The first trip was with Pastor Clayton and his youth group from Illinois. They had 34 participants.

One highlight for me (Cesar) on this trip was that my daughter Katie came on this trip as part of my staff.  She did many things to help, but her main job was to lead the cooking or preparing the breakfast time each day.  It was great to have that week with Katie. We did several ministries like Vacation Bible School, door to door, and visiting a retirement center and a foster home.  We also painted two houses and spent time at the soup kitchen. We didn’t just go to the soup kitchen to serve, we went there to eat and talk with the people eating there.  This was a very successful ministry because we got a chance to talk with a lot of people each dinner time.

We had an opportunity to do a ministry we call Ask the Lord (ATL).  During this time we ask the enemy to be quiet; we ask that our thoughts are quieted; we ask God what He wants us to do during this time and then we listen to what He says back to us.  This is the key of this prayer time, and to life, to listen to what He says.  After praying each time for about 10-15 minutes, I would gather the group and ask them what God was telling them.  I would write it down on a piece of paper and see what things God was telling us in common. One boy saw a small time shop that we passed every day while driving to our ministry site.  We kept praying… Then I saw a large wall to wall map of the world that was located in a conference room there where we were staying.  I thought that we needed to go into this room and look at the map on the wall and pray for someone.  We prayed for family members, we prayed for missionaries, etc…  This one boy that saw the tire shop realized that he had to pray for his father.  The interesting thing about this is that his father owns a tire shop.  So the boy went along and prayed aloud for his father. This is just one example of what happened during our ATL time.  Most importantly several people came to know that Lord during this week.  Praise God!

The second group came with Pastor Rich from Word of Life Chapel in Pennsylvania.  They brought 9 participants.  For this project we did Vacation Bible School, door to door evangelism, and ministered at the retirement center. We painted a house and went to the soup kitchen.  It was a great week because several people came to know the Lord. Praise Him!

Thank you so much for all your prayers and the many ways you support us!
